This young lady is Ada who is a Dutch Herder cross Rottie. She is 20 months of age. Not spayed but is vaccinated and microchipped. This is what our volunteer said about her:
“Ada is very responsive to her owner and highly trained (agility) , and could be easily distracted from barking at me. In good condition. Was due to be neutered but went through a hugely reactive phase and it was cancelled. Owner advises she behaves very differently when not with her. Less reactive with her partner and no issues at doggie daycare. In crate when I entered, very noisy and barking constantly. Settled a out of crate on lead and muzzled. Barking and pulling to get to me, not outright aggressive but very worried. Is ¾ herder and ¼ rottie. Bred for working (breeder breeds for security and guard dog work). High energy, biddable, easy to train and hugely responsive.
Needs a job or a home that will keep her mind occupied. Owner thinks would not be good for a pet only household. Was going to be assessed for RAF but they were full at the time. Owner has lost confidence in her so thinks she may be a lot of Ada’s issues so rehoming would be her best option. Good with cats/dogs. Non reactive to livestock.
Beautiful dog who needs to be taught calming techniques.”
