Nala is down as a GSD cross Husky. She is just 8 months old. Not yet spayed and no season seen yet. She is vaccinated and microchipped. Nala’s current owner rescued her from neighbours where she was being kept in unacceptable conditions in her view. This poor young girl had already had two other owners prior to this this! In different circumstance, she would be keeping her long term but also has a young daughter and a cat, and whilst Nala has shown no aggression, she does need training and boundaries still, especially out of the home, and can be quite rough, and the cat is having to be kept separate.
Nala is a typical young boisterous dog however can be quite calm in the home, and does not bark when left according to the neighbours. Our volunteer described her as in good condition but clearly needs a lot more lead training and manners when out, which she seems to have missed out on. She is friendly with next door’s dog but does bark at other dogs when out, however would imagine it is more frustration at wanting to play rather than aggression, but at present no recall so cannot be let off.
In an experienced home, Nala will be tempted by high value treats, and just needs the training and boundaries given she has obviously missed out on in her younger days. Does not seem to be any malice in her however and may well benefit from an older dog to guide her!
Nala has been rehomed by her owner and has another dog to give her the guidance she needs.
