Say a massive hello to our new girl….Doris!
This poor older lady was tied to the gates of a council pound and dumped on one of the hottest days of the year, yes you read it correctly, left to die in the heat, well done the human race you have excelled once again.
She was taken to the vets by the dog warden who gave her the once over. She was found to have some serious issues with her ears and one of her eyes. Medication was given to relieve her immediate pain but she does need surgery which the council could not provide so we were asked if we could….and she arrived with its a week ago.
Doris is the sweetest girl ever, loves everyone, fine around all dogs she has walked with and loves her food!
I am taking her to our vets today for her first examination and to see what our first steps are to help this beauty on her road to a better life.
We think she is around 10yrs old, season history unknown, she will be chipped today and no vacs history to date.
She is currently in our Notts kennels but we would love to find her a foster home in Notts so she is close to our vets for ongoing treatment but could recover in the comfort of a home.
Doris has been adopted and is now known as Dixie.
