Nala is available for adoption through GSRE – this is what her current owner says about her.

Nala is a 20-month-old, female, German Shepherd cross Akita with a black and tan short coat. She is not currently neutered but is vaccinated, micro-chipped, worm and flea treated. She has no known food allergies and is currently fed a mix of tinned and dry kibble, twice daily. She has no disclosed medical issues and she has lived in her current home since she was 6/8 weeks old when she was bought from a private breeder. Nala has no issues when visiting the vets.

Nala is being rehomed as she has started to fight with the other resident female dog.

Nala is good with children of ages 11 to 14 years. She has limited interaction with other dogs outside of the home but when she has, there has been no reaction to them. She is good with cats but only those that are resident at the home. Her reaction to livestock is unknown. She gets excited when people/deliveries come to the home. She has never shown aggression or bitten anybody.

Nala currently lives outdoors so is not fully housetrained. She can be left for 2-3 hours alone but will chew/dig during that time. She travels well in a car and is not described as barking excessively although she will bark at people passing the house.

She is not often walked so is lacking stimulation and exercise. She is strong on the lead with no recall (never let off-lead) but knows basic commands such as sit, wait and down. She does not show any possessive tendencies over food or toys with people but the fights she had with her sister were over food and attention.

During the time the GSRE assessor spent with Nala, this is what they said about her.

When the GSRE assessor visited the home, they were greeted by Nala in the garden who was very excitable but with no issues approaching her. She is an extremely friendly girl who was happy to see the assessor.

Nala is in very good condition and although she knows her basic commands, she has not had any real training. She is a clever girl who knows how to open doors and gates but has never tried to climb the garden fences.
With dedication and attention, Nala would be a wonderful companion for the right person.
