Please give a warm welcome to this gorgeous young lad.

Vinnie has just arrived into our care – another taken in by us from the stray pound.
Vinnie is very underweight weighing in at only 17kg. We have wormed him and he has been placed on 3 meals a day to help him gain the much needed weight.

This stunning boy is only around 12 months old, he is chipped and fully vaccinated and he’s still entire.

As Vinnie hasn’t been with us long we haven’t done too much with him but what we have done has all gone well.

Vinnie has met lots of people, everyone allowed him to sniff and do things at his own pace. It wasn’t long before his tail was wagging and he was nudging at their pockets to find the treats.

He takes treats very gently, he sits and gives a paw too.
He is quite good on the lead and if he is wary of anything he walks very close to your leg.

Vinnie has been on a short walk up the road, fine with passing cars and didn’t react to a small dog that was barking at him.

He has met a few of the other dogs, he was unsure at first but once he realised that the other dogs were friendly he was fine and wanted to play. He could possibly live with another dog.

We have seen no issues around food or treats and he has now realised what toys are for, he’d clearly not had any before.
As Vinnie is from the pound we have no history so older children only and we cannot cat test.

This little fella deserves a home, he loves a cuddle and he is such a gentle soul.
We are looking for a home where he won’t be left for long periods of time and one that can also provide the time, training and stimulation that a young dog needs.

Vinnie has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
