May I introduce the lovely Lyra who is approximately 2 years if that. Lyra is not spayed and has had at least 1 litter of pups already. Lyra was rescued by a couple when she was taken into the cattery where the lady worked by a member of the public who had got her signed over by an estranged relative. She was in an appalling state and had been used as a breeding machine. Her current owners have got her back to full health and weight.
Lyra is good with children and is variable with other dogs but we think this is partly nerves and not having had the correct socialisation when younger. She is ok when introduced in a controlled environment and does get on with a relative’s yorkie. She is not good with cats which is why she needs a new home as although her current owners adore her, she will not accept the cats.
Lyra is a very sweet natured and calm girl and very friendly. Whist her training still needs some work, she is a very clever girl and receptive to learn. She is fairly good with a halti, recall can be selective and she has a good range of basic commands now. Due to her neglect, Lyra does need her ears cleaned regularly and when she is spayed (currently in season) could do with having her hind dew claws removed as they are ‘dangly’.
Lyra has been rehomed by another rescue.
