This beautiful girl sadly found herself in the stray pound, another dog that needed our care so we agreed to take her in.

We have called her Amber as she had no name just a number.
Amber is 6 years old, she is micro chipped and she has had her first vaccination.
Amber has shown nothing but affection towards us since her arrival, she’s a genuinely sweet natured girl.

This lovely lady is sadly quite underweight, she has been wormed and we are currently giving her three meals a day to start and build her back up. She has muscle wastage so she’s started to have short gentle walks to help with this, she’s really enjoying being out and about. Her coat is dull and lacking lustre but hopefully this will soon improve now she’s receiving some good food and much needed tlc.

Amber isn’t a fan of other dogs and shows this by giving a few good woofs but nothing too severe, she’s probably never been socialised and all this could be very new to her, we are sure over time she’ll settle down.

She walks well on a lead but will pull to get to a good sniff but she is quite responsive to commands.

We are looking for a home where she can continue to flourish and somewhere were she can enjoy some home comforts as we imagine she’s not had many of them in the past.
Amber has been fine around her food, she’s not yet interested in toys but she does enjoy treats and takes them very gently.

As Amber is from the stray pound we have no background history so we could not place her with young children, we can’t cat test but suspect that she’d be a no to them anyway and as we said above she isn’t a dog fan so she would need to be the only dog in the home.

We offered a lifeline to this beautiful girl and she is paying us back now by wagging her tail every time she sees us, this to us is priceless!
Another needy soul who’s asking for another chance.

Amber has now been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
