The first we knew of Athena was a post on Facebook, tagging us in private messages:

“MEGA URGENT THIS PUP WILL DIE IF NO RESCUE SECURED BY TODAY. Please dont just suggest rescues to try we dont have time to be calling them, please enquire on on behalf if they may be able to help if you can and let us know.

Experienced rescue space needed TODAY for 8 month old gsd x mal pup displaying fear aggression issues towards males. Poor dog been passed from pillar to post and now current owner booking in to be PTS tonight. Dog friendly.”

We could not see her die so we managed to squeeze her into a foster home with other dogs.

Athena is a GSD cross Mali and was born 14.10.21. She is microchipped and we know she had her first vaccination but that’s it, so they have been restarted.

She travelled well and is now finding her feet. Quite confident considering but will need time to relax and realise she is safe now.

Athena has been great with all the other dogs and no problem meeting new people so far. She is nervous of some men and this displays as nervous aggression. Just needs a home that gives her the calm and confidence she needs. We would not home her with children due to her nervous tendencies.

After a long spell in foster with other dogs, Athena is now at the kennels as she needs to learn to trust more than a couple of people.

This special girl will deserve a special home!
