Bo was born 1.10.19 and is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois. She is microchipped but only had one of her puppy vaccinations as her owner never took her back for the second one! Bo needed surgery to manage her persistent right aortic arch and left ligamentum arteriosum. Basically Bo’s feeding pipe was restricted meaning she could only eat soft foods being fed whilst standing up so it could get down. Having had her scanned and surgery in place, the vets never heard from her owners again. We were asked to take Bo in April as her owners had decided they didn’t want her or her genetic problem anymore.

GSRE paid for the surgery as this young lady deserved a chance at a normal life, and she has recovered amazingly well and the vets hope she will be able to eat like a normal one day. Sadly the sooner the surgery is carried out the better so the internal muscles around the intestine learn to work again so fingers crossed we got her in time.

Bo was living with children and is fine with all dogs. In every other way she is a typical Mali, keen to learn but full of energy and toy drive. This super young girl now deserves a super home.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
