His name is Boss and he is only 5 years old…..yes 5 years although he looks over 10!!
Boss was absolutely crawling with fleas and he has numerous sores over his entire body. He is very underweight and as you can imagine he’s very frail too.

Yesterday he had some much needed flea treatment and we started him off on some small light meals, we didn’t do too much with him as he needed some peace and quiet.

This morning we checked him and I’m happy to say that most of the fleas are now dead and dropping off him but the poor boy is so scared of us and life in general.

I went to get him out of his kennel earlier and he pressed his head so tightly into the wall to prevent me getting his lead on, it was pitiful and upsetting to see…what has this boy been though?! He is lost, bewildered and shut down.

One positive thing I can say is that he’s eating very well which is a huge relief to us all, he’s having 4 to 5 small meals a day of Chappie dry and wet and he’s enjoying every mouthful plus he’s having cooked chicken.

We don’t want this post to be about his owners as they are now in Boss’s past (thank god) and we are only interested in his future. He will never ever have to be in any discomfort again or want for food and he will certainly get lots of much needed tlc!
We are soon hoping to gain more of his trust, it will happen I’m sure of it and hopefully he will soon realise that his new life is very good.

This is where your donations go on helping dogs like Boss whether it’s pennies, pounds, food, treats or bedding it all helps us to continue to help dogs like him.
A few people have said that they don’t like to see such neglect and cruelty and I appreciate it’s very upsetting but this is sadly the real/cruel world that we are living in. X

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
