Danny was adopted in 2019 and this was his original write up:

“This lovely lad has been called Danny by the kennels, as his microchip said he was Pup 3! Danny is not a full GSD and is currently entire (soon to be sorted) and vaccinations have been started.Danny came to us from the pound having done his 7 days and not having been claimed. His dob is 16.8.18 so he is just a year old.

This lovely young lad has a super friendly nature, and has been fine with the dogs he has met so far. Will obviously need some training but wants to please. Unknown with cats and whilst we would say no young children as history unknown, doubt he would bat an eyelid.

Can you give this super young man a home please?”

Sadly Danny is having to find a new home as he managed to escape his rural garden and the same day their was a reported sheep attack. There is absolutely no proof Danny had anything to do with it, or any evidence when he came home, however his family are anxious in case and do not want to take any risks with him.

Danny is absolutely fine with children. He is ok with dogs but can lunge at them when on lead, and lead work does still need some improvement.  He is a no with cats. Danny had separation anxiety when he first arrived which his home has worked with and he can now be left a few hours with little problem, but the longer left he may start chewing.

He loves his walks and his ball, especially a good game of fetch. This lovely lad is a super people person and just needs some further training. Danny needs a very secure garden and a home away from livestock just in case please.

Danny, now called Cooper, has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
