Doreen is just a young Mali, date of birth estimated as January 2022. Currently in foster with another rescue as she has already spent a long time at the vets having arrived with Parvo. Being given plenty of time to ensure she is not contagious.

“We got a call last week from a pound we help about this young Mali girl, now named Doreen.

She looks very bright in the picture but all signs pointed to the likelihood she was suffering from parvovirus, for those that don’t know what that it it’s a very serious and contagious illness with a high mortality rate.

Despite having no space and being low on funds we knew that no one else would be able to help her at short notice and further knew that her prognosis would be extremely poor without help.

Care for parvo dogs is expensive and difficult, especially because of the risk of infection to other dogs.

One of our amazing volunteers collected her and transported her to our vets. As suspected she was a strong positive for parvo so she was admitted and treatment began. She has gone done hill a little, which is expected but seems to be hanging on in there so we are hopeful for a full recovery. “

Doreen is totally back to full health and fitness and is just displaying as a typical young Mali, full of energy and mischief. No young children as we do not know her history. Unknown with dogs at present for obvious reasons.

Doreen just needs a Mali experienced home please who can give this girl all she needs and probably missed out on so far in her short life.

Doreen’s rescue has found her a forward space.
