Geli is a 10 month old, female, semi length hair, black and tan German Shepherd. She is not currently spayed due to her age but is vaccinated & microchipped.

Geli is being rehomed as her owner has broken her arm and hasn’t been able to walk the dogs for over a month now and her old Collie isn’t appreciating having a young dog in the house bouncing around and is becoming grumpy with her.
She loves to play with the nine year old resident GSD but is also happy to settle down and play on her own with toys. It is unknown whether she is good with children, cats or livestock but hasn’t shown any negative reaction only excitement when she sees them out on walks. She lives indoors and is housetrained.

She has lived with her current owner for five months having been bought off the internet, she was bred in Poland and has a polish passport and microchip. She is currently fed Iams dry food twice daily. She has no known food allergies, no issues at the vets just happy to see people and other dogs. She has an irritation on her rear end but it is clearing up with steroid cream.

She shows no possessive tendencies over food or toys. She does know some commands sit, down & she does have good recall, currently walked on a harness, and does pull so will need some lead training. She has been left for 2 or 3 hours during the day with no problem, she has chewed her own blanket and toys but no damage in the house. She is a happy friendly girl, does jump up when visitors first arrive & does wee in excitement but soon settles. She does counter surf looking for food.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
