May I introduce Hunter who was 1 in October.  He is a GSD cross Mali. He is currently entire but is microchipped and vaccinated. This lad is good with children if all ages and other dogs, although he gets very excited. A no to cats and wants to chase livestock.

Hunter has been in his home since a pup and is used to being left for a few hours but he does suffer from separation anxiety so would be best in a home where someone is around most of the day or he has the company of another dog at least. Travels well in a car. Does need a grain free diet but otherwise no medical problems. Hunter does need further lead training as he does pull when he sees other dogs, and recall needs work, but no issues over food or toys. Treat orientated. Can be an escape artist if left.

Our volunteer was greeted with a bark but soon calmed down. Typical youngster, a complete live wire, constantly playing and running around. Sadly only being rehomed due to financial reasons but in the right home, with an owner who is experienced with the breeds and can give him the training and stimulation a dog of his age needs, Hunter could be a super addition as there is no malice in this young lad.

Hunter has been rehomed by his owner.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
