Everyone by now will know that most straying & unwanted dogs end up in the dog pound. They get well cared for whilst they are there but their days are limited.
The staff/volunteers/pound pullers then starting asking the rescues for their help.
Please meet Janie who sadly ended up in the pound, sadly no owner came so the search for a rescue began.

Every rescue is bursting, no spaces and not enough homes.

Janie found herself on the next leg of her journey which was to be her final one as she was being transported to the vets, her time was up.

Luckily for Janie and us our kennels managed to squeeze her in and so the journey to the vet was stopped and another transport run was arranged for her to come to us!
Janie was literally saved in the nick of time and we will be forever grateful to everyone for making this happen!

Janie is only a young girl, she’s chipped and has just started her vacs course. We doubt that she has been spayed.

This fabulous, friendly young lady loves everyone. She meets people with a big smile on her face and all her body wriggles with excitement. She hasn’t put a paw wrong since being with us.

She has been out for lots of lovely walks, she pulls initially then settles down. She has met a few dogs and she isn’t keen on the other girls but we think with the right introduction that she could live with a calm neutered male.
She does have a sensitive tummy so she is fed a grain free food and this seems to suit her very well.

As with all the other ex poundies we have to say older children only as we have no previous history.

Janie has recently met our vet, she loved her and the vet nurse too. She was more than happy to be examined as this meant big cuddles afterwards. She thrives on attention but she isn’t clingy, she will happily go and sit back in her kennel once her fuss is over.

Janie is going to be a very loyal companion for someone, she bonds very quickly and she is also a very fast learner.

The only bad thing that I can think to say about Janie is that she doesn’t like small yappy dogs, she doesn’t really react she just gives them a dirty look!
We are looking for a loving home for this girl where she will get the attention and care that she deserves, she really is a sweetheart.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
