This young man is a Carpathian Shepherd cross. He is just 1 year old. Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Joshco was signed over to rescue by the police who had him signed over by his owner. A lovely young man who gets on with other dogs and loves people.

This is what his foster mum had to say when she had him:

“He is fine with children 9yrs and over as he gets on well with my Grandson. Hagan will greet Leland when he comes to visit, will lick and sniff then walk away until Leland sits on the settee, then Hagan will sit next to him with head on his lap and go to sleep.

Hagan is fine with other dogs on and off lead (off lead in enclosure) plays well but does have a tendency to get over excited and start to play nip, but will soon stop when the other dog lets him know its not acceptable.

He knows basic commands, Sit, Stay, Down, and wait. Recall is fine when there is no other distractions, ie Dogs.

Hagan is very intelligent and eager to learn,  and being food focused helps with training. Hagan certainly has a soft side to him, as all he wants is to be fussed and loved. Given half the chance he will quite happily share your bed as long as he has most it.

He will make a fantastic addition to an active family.”

Joshco had himself a home however has come back into rescue after an unfortunate incident. We are told he became agitated at something/somebody at the rear of the property, and was then allowed to run upstairs to the bedroom where the children were playing, resulting in him biting one of the children in his moment of zealousness.

Joshco is a super lad who just needs continued training and boundaries.

Are you his special home?

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
