May I introduce Loxy  who is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois with floppy ears! Yes she probably has something else in her as well. She was not even 1 year old when she arrived. She is microchipped and vaccinated and is now spayed.

We were asked to take Loxy in having already had 2 homes. Her initial home purchased her to entertain their 12 year old daughter who got bored with her. She was then sold on. Her new owner spent a lot of time and money on training as she had a lot of adolescent issues that had not been previously addressed. Her new owner was then made homeless so on Loxy moved bless her.

Loxy had quite weak hips but hydrotherapy for 6 weeks seems to have sorted that out. She is a typical youngster, full of life and loves to play rough but can be gentler with smaller dogs. Unknown with cats and would be fine with older children. Loxy’s issue is being left, which bearing in mind her history, is not surprising.

Loxy will need a home where somebody is around most of the time as otherwise she will bark, even if there are other dogs in the home. She is currently very needy of her people but with the correct handling and over time, this should ease as her confidence grows in being settled in one place.

Loxy was adopted in 2021 but sadly is being rehomed again as they are finding her too much with their young grandchildren, and still needs work on lead . She is also causing problems with the neighbours due to barking at next door’s Husky.

Loxy is typical of her breed and just needs a home experienced with Mali’s who can give her the exercise, training and stimulation she needs please. A lovely friendly girl with people and in the right home she will be a super addition!

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
