Meet Midas, he is still entire, chipped but not vaccinated.

The male owner has died and his female owner does not feel she can manage him now, she told our assessor that he is a no to children, can be selective around dogs especially small ones and a no to cats.

He is very wary around new people and has nipped the gasman, didn’t break the skin but ripped his trousers. He also warns the postman off, he was wary around our volunteer but soon settled.

He knows his basic commands, walked well on the lead and has ok recall if no dogs or people around.

He has shown some aggression over food.

We were told he was never registered with a vet so we have no vet history.

Midas will need an experienced owner to show him boundaries and further his training.

Midas is now staying with his family.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
