Please take a look at this gorgeous boy!

This is Monty!

Monty is just over 3yr old, he’s microchipped and still entire. He is a semi coat, a stunning blue boy and has the most amazing eyes.

This boy arrived into our care with the weight of the world on his shoulders, he was so nervous that he made himself jump when he moved. He didn’t want any eye contact and he certainly didn’t want any touching or stroking but there was never any aggression.
Fast forward a week and we now have a lovely friendly boy who is just desperate to experience everything in life.

He is still quite shy when meeting new people but he soon comes around once he realises that he’s safe. Monty loves his snuggles and very gentle gives us a kiss.
We now have a waggy tail when he sees us and he’s started to take treats.
Monty is quite lean so we have him on 3 meals a day to try and build him up, he has a very good appetite and he’s also fine around his food and treats.

Sadly Monty doesn’t know how to play with toys, he’s probably never had any.
Monty went out for his first walk and he didn’t put a paw wrong, he was absolutely fine near the road side, not phased by the traffic and didn’t even notice anyone passing by. He doesn’t pull on the lead at all, he really is a dream to walk. While he was out he interacted with our other dogs and actually wanted to play.

We are looking for a home that can give Monty the time, space and patience that he needs and also a home that can continue to give him confidence.

As we have no history we have to say older children only, we cannot cat test and we do think that he may live alongside a spayed female or neutered male with the correct introduction.

We will never know why Monty was so nervous but we do know that he is a fantastic boy who now deserves a much better future.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
