We were asked if we could take in this young lady who had run out of time at the council kennels:
“This is Pixy, she was left in a car and someone taped it all up with duct tape!
She is coming out of her shell now.
Pixie is a worried German shepherd dog who needs a long time to gain trust in people. She has proven to not like men and was a little trouble maker at the vet. She does let you handle her and take her on the lead but will proceed to fear bark at others approaching her. She is good in her kennel however- obviously her safe space- she will come in for a treat and will let you stroke and brush her inside. She does need training to learn that the outside world is not a scary one as she is so fearful. Her food orientation will be handy with this. Bless her we do all have a soft spot for this big chicken and have hope for her future as she is willing to learn.”
Pixy will be 2 in September. She is microchipped and fully vaccinated and now spayed. No young children as no history, and further assessment needed with other dogs. Pixy is a lovely girl who has shown no fear or aggression since arriving and will probably just need a GSD experienced home who can give her the stability and confidence she has obviously missed out on so far.
