This gorgeous lad was doing the round on social media as he was due to be put to sleep within days due to lack of space at the council kennels:
“Rascal – German Shepherd 6 years old.
Friendly boy who loves a fuss and a little play on the paddock. Does spin quite a bit in his kennel, so has unfortunately dropped some weight whilst in pound. He’d make a great pet for someone who can give him the love and attention he deserves. Enjoys watching the goats and ducks from the paddock.”
We said yes and he was transported from Derby to Cornwall the next day with a chain of 4 people, and he was as good as gold and friendly with all of them.
Rascal is a lovely friendly lad and has shown no issues with the other dogs at the kennels. He is microchipped and vaccinated and now neutered.
Older children only as we do not know his history and unknown with cats, but this lad would probably fit into most GSD experienced homes with ease!
This is what foster dad has to say about Rascal:
“Update on the super friendly Rascal, the dog that has ( nearly) everything. Loves treats and rides in the car, and always draws compliments from strangers. Doesn’t climb on furniture, doesn’t go upstairs and sleeps quietly through the night. Greets like an old friend in the morning and is solidly house trained. He is very affectionate and is I think for the first time learning to walk nicely to heel. He can bark at dogs he is not familiar with but is responding well to regular socialisation. He has a lively mind and loves to play with a ball, but high prey drive so a no to cats and squirrels. What’s not to like?”
