This beautiful girl is Ruby, she is 12 months old, chipped and about to start her vaccinations.

Ruby has had a rubbish start to her life, she was kept on a chain along with another dog.

Under all her thick coat she is very thin, we are slowly building her up and hope to see some weight gain very soon.

Ruby’s coat was badly matted, she did need to be clipped in a few places as she had some painful knots. We are now hoping that with the correct diet and some careful grooming that she will soon start to look more presentable.

When Ruby first arrived she was a little bit of a wild child, quite cheeky but also funny. She is such a character and has certainly won the hearts of a few of the volunteers.

Ruby does pull on the lead but she is so inquisitive as everything is new to her and very exciting.

She doesn’t react to dogs while out walking and she is fine also with traffic and people passing by.

This lovely girl does seem to be ok with other dogs and she has also made friends with one of the other dogs in our care, they walk beautifully together and they have played well too. We are sure that with the correct intros that Ruby could live alongside a neutered male.

Ruby will need some training, she may also need housetraining as she has previously lived outside but, she’s a clever girl and will soon learn.

We are looking for a home that can dedicate some time to Ruby to show her how good life can and should be, she will reward you with big kisses!
