xante new-w800-h1000

This poor old lady has found herself in kennels at the age of 12 as her owner has taken very ill and the family can’t / wont take her in.

She has been in kennels now since the beginning of March with no offer of a home, not much is known about this girl but this is what I have.

She started life as a brood bitch for a police force but she was found to have Pyometra so was then spayed, no good as a police dog so she was gifted to a member of the public who is still her owner now.

He says she is ok with some dogs but not others, she will bark but has never bitten them.

She gets excited when going out on the lead but soon settles and walks nicely. Her booster is due now, not known if she is chipped.

She does have a small lump on her hindleg but has been seen by a vet who says at her age it isn’t causing her any trouble so to leave it.

Zante is at present in kennels under another rescue as the owners son just wanted to PTS her so the rescue stepped in.

Zante has found her forever home!

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
