Meet Dora, this poor girl came to us from a dog pound and what a sorry sight she was too. Her owner knew she was there and turned up to tell the pound she did not want her back as her other dog had attacked her twice and she had been living outside in a kennel and was more trouble than she could be bothered with.
We think Dora is about 3yrs old, not yet spayed we now know as she has just come into season, microchipped and vaccinated.
Dora spent most of her time the first week with us crawling on her belly whenever anyone looked at her and would run and hide if you spoke to her. She is now in foster and we have a very different girl indeed.
The one thing we have found with Dora in the home is that she bonds far too quickly with one person and will warn the other person away and any dogs in the household too so this is being dealt with but I am sure will reappear when she moves to her forever home so the new owner will need to be able to deal with this. The 2 dogs she lives with she is fine with, a little bossy with the bitch but fine with the male.
Dora now has some confidence of her own but we need to ensure this confidence is of the right type and she progresses in the right way which we are doing and her new home will need to carry this on.
She is unknown with children and a no to cats.
Are you an experienced GSD home who could offer this girl her second chance.
Dora now has a home of her own.
