Sadie is 3 years old, now spayed and fully vaccinated by the rescue she she is with. Sadie was taken in by her owner after her previous owner died. She has lacked general socialisation as a youngster so comes across very nervous which she displays by barking until she has relaxed.
Sadie is fine with children and other dogs, even though she comes across as not because of her barking. We are told she is a no to cats. She is not too bad on the lead but does have good recall and basic commands. No issues with toys or food with people, but will warn other dogs.
Update on Sadie:
” Sadie is beginning to settle in and is very attached to her main handler which helps her to be more confident in situations she finds a little scary. She now goes to training school every Friday where she is doing some confidence building sessions with our behaviourist. She appears to gain confidence from other dogs, so we are working on this with her.
She has had some interest, but introducing her to potential adopters is the difficult part at the moment as she is so wary of new people.
We are confident that the right people will come along for her, she is proving to be a very intelligent and loving dog, so will make someone the perfect companion.”
Sadie needs a home that can continue her socialisation and has the experience to give her the confidence she lacks. She may well benefit from living with an older and steady dog to show her the ropes. Only being rehomed as her owners are moving to accommodation where she is not allowed.
