Here we have the lovely Mistique or Misty as I prefer. She is 3yrs old and came to us from the pound along with Kala.

We have no season history for her but she is now fully vaccinated and chipped.

Misty has a fantastic temperament and apart from being absolutely petrified of everything and everyone she has been the sweetest girl to handle.

Since being with us she has grown so much in confidence everyday but will still need an understanding owner to continue to build on this for her future.

If you think you fit this role then please get in touch.

Now in foster, this is what her foster mum has to say about her:

“Mystique is a dear dog who we are fostering. She is probably a GSD/Mali x

Initially she was shy and nervous but within 24 hours she is glued to my side and is an affectionate lovely dog who seeks comfort from her person and who is good with all the dogs she has met so far.

She needs a patient and understanding home as she still gets worried meeting new people but absolutely no malice. She hasn’t a nasty bone in her body. She isn’t food or toy aggressive. She is a submissive type.

She has been off lead in an enclosed area and stays with you. She is fine with livestock. This girl will be such a loyal and loving companion. She won’t be a guard dog and won’t bark but she will be your best friend.

I think mystique could be an only dog if you were around all the time. Otherwise she could happily live with a nice male or female. She has mixed with dogs of all shapes and sizes, males and females and been fine. ”

Mystique is now doing really well and with continued socialisation to the world, is going to be a lovely rounded lass who loves her people.

Missy has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
