Bear is available for adoption through GSRE – this is what his current owner says about him.
Bear is a 20-month-old, male, short coated, black and tan German Shepherd. He is not currently neutered, but is vaccinated and microchipped. He has no known food allergies and eats a raw diet twice daily. He has no disclosed medical issues. He is fine during visits to the vets as long as he isn’t close to other dogs.
Bear is being rehomed through GSRE as his current owner does not have the time to train him.
Bear is described as being good with resident children from the age of 8 years and upwards. He is reactive with other dogs and will bark at them a lot. He has never lived with another dog. His reaction to cats and livestock is not known. He barks when visitors/deliveries come to the home. When the assessor visited Bear, he jumped up but had no malice in his greeting.
Bear is currently left all day on his own and does not show any destructive behaviour. He travels well in a car, lives indoors and is fully housetrained. He pulls strongly on the lead and is described as being ‘aggressive’ towards anyone who approaches him and his owner whilst out. His recall is intermittent and he knows sit and paw. He does not have any possessive tendencies over toys but likes to be left alone if he is eating a bone. He is described as not liking to be touched if he is unwell.
