Local kennels sent us this message:
“Hi Lizzy, This may be a long shot and sorry to ask again….This little fella is down as a GSD X. 4-5 months. He has some health issues – bad back legs, had bald patches round his eyes but has had nexgard and has got better. The vets have taken bloods as they think he is a dwarf and most likely if that is the case probably won’t have a long life span. He is on Synoquin & large breed baby virbac food. The bloods won’t be back until at least 2 weeks time so don’t know for definite if he is a dwarf and the extent of health issues but sadly the police have said for him to be PTS. He does need out urgently – I may be able to push it until next week if you can help? Let me know what you think please. Thank you as always X”
It doesn’t matter what is wrong with this poor young man, he most certainly did not deserve to die so young, so he is currently in our care. It has been confirmed he does have dwarfism, but at present he is loving life in his foster home with the other dogs and his foster mum and his health is being monitored.
Barney Bear is in fact doing extremely well however he will be staying with his foster mum where his health can be monitored going forward.
