Nala is just one year old. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She has been with her family since 8 weeks of age and is now being rehomed as work hours have changed and she is being left far too long alone. Her owners also realise they do not have the time to give her the training a dog of her age needs.
Nala is good with older children and other large breed dogs but not great with small dogs and a definite no to cats as she does have a high prey drive. She needs further lead training and recall is a work in progress but Nala has basic commands. She can be possessive over toys. A typical GSD she can have a sensitive tummy.
This is what our volunteer had to say about her:
“Nala is very toy orientated and can be mouthy. She is ok with loud noises and fireworks has had no reaction to them. I can see that she is very bored has limited interaction with owners and needs stimulated exercise and training. She is in my opinion a little underweight but this can be caused by sensitive tummy reaction and changes of food. Her coat, nails and skin are in very good condition.
She is a wonderful young lady and will need a firm but loving home. She is confined for very long periods so when she is released she is full of energy and bursting to run. She is only walked once a day which is definitely not enough for Nala and her energy levels.
She would suit a family with older children and maybe a dog of the same size as her so that she learns place.”
Can you help Nala please?
