May I introduce handsome Thor who will be 10 in August. He is microchipped and neutered but vaccinations are out of date. He has been in his home since he was 5 and came from a dog trainer who had rescued him. Being rehomed due to relocation where he cannot go.
Thor lives with children and loves them dearly, he is good with other dogs, although can be vocal when on lead. Not shown any adverse reactions to the neighbours cats or livestock he has seen but his owner does not think he could live with a cat. He is used to regular trips to Scotland so travels well. Good on lead and has recall and basic commands.
This is what our volunteer had to say:
“This is an older dog which appears well cared for and in good condition. He did not bark when I called and stayed behind his owner while I entered the house. He came up and gave me a sniff and then cuddled in. Thor is fairly large but very calm and when I sat down he sat down beside me and then went and laid on his bed until I left. He is not allowed upstairs or on the furniture.
Thor is a lovely calm easy going boy. He likes his walks but goes out once a day, likes meeting other dogs and interacting, no reaction when off lead but can be vocal when on lead, he shows no aggression.
Thor may well suit a family or an older person who would like a Shepherd but needs a calm dog which does not need lots of walks and training.”
Thor has been adopted.
