“I am contacting from Chichester District Council regarding a stray Belgian Malinois that we currently have in our Portsmouth Stray Dog Kennels.

‘Rex’ was taken to our kennels in Portsmouth by myself and he was very affectionate towards me, jumping up at me with his paws on my chest and enjoying a back rub! The kennel staff have also enjoyed his company so far, but we are really trying to find somewhere willing to take Rex in so that he is not stuck at the stray dog pound for too long. We have found in the past that this breed is very difficult to find a rescue for, so were hoping that you may be able to help. Rex is male and aged 1 years 10 months. I will ask the kennels to provide any pictures and further information if you feel you may be able to help.”

So, Rex has landed with us to find him a new home. He is a cuddle monster! No malice in him whatsoever. No issues with other dogs so far. No young children as we do not know his history and unknown with cats.

Rex would love an active home who has experience with the breed, and in return he will be a cuddly and energetic addition to your family.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
