This beautiful young Mali is Belle who was born 28.5.24. She is microchipped and we are told vaccinated, but not neutered as too young. Being rehomed as her mum does not feel comfortable with her on her own, as dad is now working away a lot, and there is a baby due.

Belle did not have a great start in life and was ‘rescued 6 months ago’ from a neglectful and abusive situation. She has most certainly turned her life round and shown what a super girl she is! Belle is fine with older children and good with other dogs. A not to cats.

At present she is really not getting enough exercise or stimulation. Lead work and recall needs more work but she has good basic commands and no issues over food or toys. This is what our volunteer had to say:

“Belle at just under a year, is clearly frustrated and bored living in a first floor apartment. For the hour that I was there, Belle showed no aggression just pent up energy and playfulness.  A little mouthing but nothing unexpected or troublesome and Belle was allowed free reign over sofas etc.

When I first walked in Belle was so excited and wet the floor. She is full of energy but I didn’t witness any aggression at all with removing toys that she was playing with or even taking away a treat that Belle had just been given. On the whole it appeared that she is a very good natured dog.  She has been left for up to 5 hours without incident. She shows no aggression towards other dogs.

They have 4 kids (10 and up) and have a baby on the way. Mum is worried about Belle’s reaction when baby arrives and also is not confident that she can give time to Belle with the extra child coming and also with Dad working abroad more.

Personally I think Belle will make a very nice dog but needs to be worked/occupied more. Note I don’t believe she has been tested living with children less than 10 years.”

Can you please give Belle the home she needs.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
