We were contacted by someone who was trying to help this handsome lad, Fred. His dad had been in and out of hospital and Fred was home alone with a neighbour going in and feeding him. As you can imagine Fred was very stressed being alone and finally, the neighbours managed to convince his owner to sign him over to a rescue.

Fred was born in 2017. He was not microchipped, no vaccinations and still entire, all of which is being taken care of.

Fred wants to be with people as you would expect, and is currently loving life at the kennels with so many volunteers and sights, sounds and smells to keep him busy. Not great on his back end but then there is severe muscle wastage there from lack of proper exercise.

Fred will be looking for a cosy retirement home to call his own again where he will be a fantastic companion and friend.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
