Maeva

Maeva (1)
Maeva (2)

Maeva is being rehomed as despite being in her home since a pup, she is continually fighting the other dogs and cats in the home. Fine with people though.

“Met Maeva and her owners this morning. Maeva was wearing a muzzle and was very excited and having a spat with a 6-year old cockerpoo who was taken upstairs. Maeva lives with 2 other dogs – one an unneutered female cockerpoo and a male pug, with 6 cats, 2 of which are elderly with heart conditions.

Maeva has not got an ounce of malice in her and is a very attractive GSD who is clearly in need of more exercise. She is very jumpy but did calm down for a time. She is crate trained and because of squabbling with the other dogs she wears a muzzle in the house. All. animals are kept away from her. She is not let off-lead, just long-lined and plays football with owners.

Maeva is not possessive about food/toys – she is very toy orientated and this could be used to help train her. The owner is trying to train her but the household conditions make it very difficult because of the constant separating of dogs and cats.

Maeva is walked in a halti for control and is in good physical condition. She is good at the vets with no medicaI issues – the only proviso is that she cannot go into the waiting room with other dogs. Owners contacted breeder, in Cambridge, to return her. Breeder said “no” and to “put her on Gumtree and to ask for £1,000.” As much as they do love and care for Maeva the situation has become impossible. Crate trained and apparently likes being in crate.

ln my opinion Maeva, in an active home, would be a great addition. P[us side; not barky; copes with fireworks; lives next to some very loud dogs and does not react vocally. Good with older children but maybe too bouncy for under 10s. Lovely dog – just needs routine/exercise/training.”

Can you give this young girl the home she needs please?

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
