Please meet Abbi who is a very petite Mali cross.
We believe that Abbi is around 12 to 18 months old and very much doubt that she has been spayed.
This poor little girl arrived into our care having been previously in the stray pound.
To say that Abbi is terrified of the world would be an understatement, she literally is scared of her own shadow.
During the short time that Abbi has been with us we have managed to gain a very small amount of her trust. We can get a lead on her and take her for a walk albeit a very short one. She has started to come out of her shell in the kennel and she will now approach for a quick sniff before heading back into her safe place which is her bedroom.
Abbi’s journey is going to be a long one but we don’t give up and never will, everything is done at Abbi’s pace and we hope that we can eventually help Abbi to overcome her fears.
This little girl is very hand shy, it is quite obvious that she has taken a few beatings during her very short life, her body language speaks volumes.
We will continue to work with Abbi and hope that eventually we can find her a home where she can settle, be loved and be the dog that she should be.
Abbi is great around other dogs and this is the only time that we see her tail wag, she would benefit from living with another dog as when she is around them her fear seems to decrease.
Hopefully one day she will realise that not all humans are bad.
