Axel is 7 years old. Now neutered and microchipped and vaccinations are being restarted. This lad is a German Shepherd cross.

We were asked to take the lovely Axel in after he had been signed over to the police due to a bite on a teenager which had caused minimal damage but had broken skin. The boy concerned said he had thrown a ball for Axel and he had misjudged the distance and caught him instead of the ball.

Unwanted by his owners and not having been walked for a good while, the police took him in and asked for rescue help. They described him as friendly and nice natured, easy to handle and happy out and about around the kennels.

Axel has been totally friendly since arriving with us. No young children for obvious reasons. Unknown at present with other dogs. Can be possessive over his toys but no issues with food.

A lovely friendly lad who will probably be happy in most homes that can give him the exercise, tlc and love he has been missing out on.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
