Due to Bo’s surgery requirement when she came into us in April last year, it was decided she should stay in our care until she was 100% recovered. We would say she is there!
Bo was born 1.10.19 and is a Belgian Shepherd Malinois. She is microchipped but only had one of her puppy vaccinations as her owner never took her back for the second one! Bo needed surgery to manage her persistent right aortic arch and left ligamentum arteriosum. Basically Bo’s feeding pipe was restricted meaning she could only eat soft foods being fed whilst standing up so it could get down. Having had her scanned and surgery in place, the vets never heard from her owners again. We were asked to take Bo in April as her owners had decided they didn’t want her or her genetic problem anymore.
GSRE paid for the surgery which amounted to just under £4,000 as this young lady deserved a chance at a normal life, and she has recovered amazingly well and you would now never know there was anything wrong with her.
Bo is not an aggressive dog but does have extremely high toy drive and can have a bad habit of ragging her lead unless you are firm with her. She was walked with a chain lead to overcome this issue to start but will still have a go if she knows you are not overly confident. Loves other dogs and playing with them if they can keep up with her. Would excel at something such as agility. Very confident and would love a job. Bonds with her person very quickly.
