This handsome lad is Buddy who is 7 years young and neutered.

Buddy is not keen on children as he is uncomfortable with unpredictable noise and movement so we would only rehome him with teenagers upwards, but is ok with other dogs although can be typically dominant towards some males. He also lives with cats and does not react to livestock. Currently living with a male spaniel.

Buddy  greeted our volunteer with a bark, initially timid but was then very friendly. He walks well on a halti and has good recall and basic commands. No medical issues but does regularly have glucosamine now as a preventative measure to help his joints. He does not like the vet and has to be muzzled and is not keen on people looking at his feet.

Buddy loves his ball but not very good at giving it back! He just needs time to bond with new people and will make a fantastic companion. He is in excellent condition and only being rehomed as there his owner does not have the time and energy for him that he deserves as her partner has MS and she also has a young child to care for.

Can you help Buddy please?

Buddy is now staying with his owner.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
