1. Rascal

This gorgeous lad was doing the round on social media as he was due to be put to sleep within days due to lack of space at the council kennels: “Rascal – German Shepherd 6 years old. Friendly boy who loves a fuss and a little play on the paddock. Does...
  2. Duke

We were contacted by council kennels: “We currently have a stray GSD who is looking for a rescue space from the 12th. Duke is very friendly towards all staff, he enjoys a cuddle and fuss. Duke is quite strong on lead and he does pull ahead. The vets who the...
  3. Rex

Rex is neutered and microchipped but his vaccination will need to be restarted. This is what our volunteer had to say about this lad who just needs an experienced GSD home who will give him the boundaries and training he needs: “Rex is a gorgeous neutered male shep. His owner...
  4. Goldie

“A brief history – They are from a group of 10 in total that were left in a one room of a property after the owners disappeared -all dirty with faeces and matted to varying degrees. One of the owner’s family members has been trying to resolve the situation. Initially...
  5. Hunter

We were contacted by a vets who had been asked to put to sleep this handsome lad. He had apparently bitten but the vets did not feel it was his fault, the wrong environment and they had never seen adverse behaviour. Hunter will be 3 in April. He is neutered,...

  7. Klaus

May I introduce Klaus. Still entire and vaccinations out of date but he is microchipped. Klaus’ mum is a single parent with health issues who is struggling to exercise him since her ex partner left. She has no support and no visitors as Klaus has scared them all off. He...
  8. Sheba

Sheba arrived from the pound. We were told the poor girl was about 3 years old but we now think she is older, probably 6 or 7. She was microchipped but it was not registered. Looks like she has been used for breeding so obviously not spayed which is now...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
