1. Max

Max was surrendered to the pound after he became over protective of his mum whilst she was pregnant. On arrival at Kennels Max was expectedly cautious of the vollie that met him, this was soon overcome with a treat or two before taking him for to stretch his legs in...
  2. Paddy

Paddy had a rough start to life spending part of it as a yard dog with an old derelict building with the windows smashed out as his shelter. He was rehomed to a family who spent a lot of time working on his anxiety and helping him to overcome some...
  3. Jaxon

Jaxon is a youngster a lockdown pup who was reactive and too much for the existing owner. Jaxon came to us with apparently no training at all but he did have a very high toy drive. He is cautious of people until he gets to know them and is happier...
  4. Hunter

May I introduce Hunter. He is 4 years old, neutered and microchipped. Vaccinations to be restarted. Hunter came in as his dad’s visa had run out meaning he had to return to the USA and was unable to take him back with him. Hunter was born in California. He is...
  5. Simba

This gorgeous older boy is our Simba, he is around 10yrs old but very spritely. He came into rescue with Moana, both dogs have fantastic temperaments. Simba is now in foster and I am sure he will stay there for the rest of his days. Simba has been adopted.
  6. Sofia

This pretty little girl is at our Notts kennels. We estimate her age to be around 3 to 4 years, we are unsure as she was from the pound, we know for definite that she hasn’t been spayed and she’s quite possibly had a litter. As this little girl is...
  7. Lexi

This pretty little girl is at the Notts kennels, she’s 2 year old, fully vaccinated and spayed. Lexi came into our care as she had a disagreement with the resident Labrador and so for this reason she needs to be the only dog in the household. Lexi can also be...
  8. Moana

Feast your eyes on this gorgeous girl, her name is Moana and she is 5yrs old, not yet spayed, fully vaccinated and chipped. Sadly Moana had a litter of pups after her first season thanks to her owners greed and selfishness. In fact she came into rescue with the father...
  9. Chase

This truly gorgeous boy is at our Notts kennels, he’s 7 years old and fully vaccinated. Chase is an absolute pleasure to be around, everyone loves walking him and he’s so easy to handle even though he’s a big lad. Chase knows sit, down and wait and he loves to...
  10. Caine

Caine’s in our Notts kennels and has just turned 6 years old, fully vaccinated but not yet neutered. He came into our care as was not getting the attention or exercise he needed. He is a little nervous of having his neck and feet touched, we are working on this...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
