Cora is available for adoption through GSRE – this is what her current owner says about her.

Cora is a 4-year-old female, black and tan German Shepherd with semi-length coat. She is neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. She has no known food allergies and no disclosed medical issues. She has lived in her current home since she was 12 weeks old when she bought from a reputable KC registered breeder. She is described as being excited when she visits the vets but has never been unwell and is said to be in good health.

Cora is being rehomed as her current owner’s daughter has become allergic.

Cora is good with children and has lived with one child as a new born baby and a two year old without issue. She is selective with other dogs after being bitten three times and will sometimes bark at other dogs when out. She has never lived with another dog. Her reaction to cats is not known and she has never been around any livestock.

Cora has never shown aggression or bitten anyone but will get very excited when visitors/deliveries come to the home. She can get a little over-protective over the female in the household and she takes a little longer to get to know men before she trusts them. She will bark if someone enters the house whom she doesn’t know. She will also bark if she hears loud noises and fireworks but does not react to emergency service vehicles.

Cora travels well in the car and is currently left all day without displaying any destructive tendencies. She is now living outside due to the child’s allergic reaction to her but she lived indoors prior to that and is full housetrained. She does not show any possessive tendencies over food/toys and is described as being very chilled and loving.

Cora pulls initially when walked on a lead and is currently walked on an extendable lead and never let-off. She has a good recall unless another dog is present and also knows sit, paw, leave, lie down, stay and wait.

Cora has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
