We were contacted by a council in Essex who had removed numerous GSD’s from a property where they were being hoarded. There were 15 dogs in total. In fairness the dogs were fed and all got along, but the majority had never seen outside of the property or been on a lead. Initially three boys were signed over. No aggression in any of these boys, they were just nervous of new people, in a cautious manner.

The council kennels managed to groom them all and get them microchipped where needed and vaccinated. They just about coped being put on a slip lead but travelled well.

Buddy was taken in by a foster home who have worked slowly with him to the point he is now so settled they have adopted him.

Dakota still needs a lot of time to become a dog which is being built up slowly but surely.

Poor Thunder was definitely the worst and nearly shut down from fear. Still a long way to go with this poor lad but baby steps. turn up to court), 2 more of the dogs were released to us, Darcy and Harry.

The council managed to get another of the 2 dogs signed over, Harry and Darcy.

Harry is more confident than the other boys but still nervous of the outside world. Once he trusts you he bonds happily. Could live with other dogs and just needs an understanding home.

We believe Darcy may well be the mum of some of these boys as she is much more wise to the world and suspect at the beginning she had a fairly normal dog life. She will still need an understanding home to take things slowly but she could live with another dog.

The good news is that the owner has been prosecuted and will be banned from having dogs!
