1. Cairo

We were contacted by the lady who owns the kennels rented by the council who was desperate to save this sweet girl’s life: “This poor middle aged girl has clearly had a rough life. She is thin, ungroomed, had half an ear ripped off and her eyes are a picture...
  2. Jerry Lee

We were contacted by the council to ask if we could urgently help this poor lad Jerry Lee. He was microchipped but no response to contact, and was skinny, overgrown nails and a massive tumour on his ear as you can see. We took him straight in and straight to...
  3. Bruno

Well what can I say about this poor young lad! Bruno is 2 years old. He is microchipped but that’s it. We were asked by the RSPCA if we could take him on after he had been signed over by his owners who we were told were crack heads! Bruno...
  4. Abbi

Please meet Abbi who is a very petite Mali cross. We believe that Abbi is around 12 to 18 months old and very much doubt that she has been spayed. This poor little girl arrived into our care having been previously in the stray pound. To say that Abbi is...
  5. Randy

So we get this message from one of our pound pullers: “Hey Lizzy I’m desperate for old boy in pound not done 7 days yet east London but he won’t be claimed. Weak back legs 12 years old ignores other dogs needing a miracle ” This poor old lad was...

  7. Barney Bear

Local kennels sent us this message: “Hi Lizzy, This may be a long shot and sorry to ask again….This little fella is down as a GSD X. 4-5 months. He has some health issues – bad back legs, had bald patches round his eyes but has had nexgard and has...
  8. Sam

May I introduce Sam. He is microchipped and now neutered. We were contacted by a veterinary practice who asked us if we could help Sam as his owner wanted to book him in to be put to sleep, and they did not feel Sam had been given a fair chance,...

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
