Hello everyone…..my name is Jack and I am very sad. I used to live at home with my dad who I loved very much and he loved me. One day my dad became ill and then he was gone. Some other people came to the house who I did not really know, I now know they were family but the next place they took me was a place called the vets as my dad was now gone and they did not want me so they asked the vet to put me to sleep. Luckily for me the lovely vet nurses thought I was such a lovely boy, because I am you know, and said I deserved better and asked if I could be signed over to them and they would try and find me a home that deserved such a good lad as me. The lovely vet also removed a big lump from my head and tested it and lucky me it was clear!

They contacted a local rescue lady who found me my place with this fab charity here!

As I have only ever lived alone with my dad I am finding kennels as lovely as mine is very difficult. I am worried about the other residents barking, although they feed me well and take me out for little walks I am terribly home sick and am fretting a lot that the girls who look after me are worried. Is there anyone out there who could offer me a bed at their house at all please. I am a very friendly boy, I would like to live as the only pet in the home, no children please, I am very over weight so short walks are all I need, I won’t eat a lot, I can walk nicely on my lead, I am good company, I just want a quiet life….

Jack is neutered and microchipped and found himself a super foster home. He is a dream in the home and loves people but sadly hates other dogs when out and about which his foster dad is struggling with. Various methods of socialisation have been tried but jack is adamant no other dogs. May well also be partly exasperated by his sad past and now not wanting to risk any other dog coming near his person. He is a very strong lad and will need a home where he can avoid dog interaction wherever possible please but will give you tonnes of love in return.

Jack has been adopted.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
