May I introduce Klaus who will be 3 years old in May. Still entire and vaccinations out of date but he is microchipped. Klaus’ mum is a single parent with health issues who is struggling to exercise him since her ex partner left. She has no support and no visitors as Klaus has scared them all off. He is extremely protective of his territory and his mum and barks and lunges at everyone he sees. He is also possessive over food and toys.
This poor lad is basically mistrusting of people as our volunteer discovered, as when she introduced her older female into the mix, he actually lost focus on her and did finally accept a few treats. Whilst this lad really needs to come in to be worked with, with the lack of space this is not an option at present and his mum is due a hip operation soon.
A definite no to children and cats but, if he could live with an older female for guidance, in a home with some space, and a couple or single person who can give him the time to gain his confidence and trust, we believe he will learn so much. He was actually trying to play with the female but she wasn’t interested as she is 10.
Klaus would definitely be a project and would need an experienced and confident home. Can anyone help him please?
