We were contacted by an RSPCA Officer to see if we could help this young lad. Lucky needed a new home as his owners were moving into rented accommodation where he would not be allowed. “Lucky shows promise in the working dog area, very protective of family and children, toy obsessed, energetic. Has a bite history and stranger wary.”

So Lucky is now in our care. He is not microchipped or vaccinated, which will be rectified, and whilst very gobby to start and ‘brave’, it was more out of fear than outright aggression. He is settling in nicely and learning boundaries and trust, along with how to play.

Lucky is an overgrown pup who seems to have missed out on a lot of initial training and socialisation. He will need assessing with other dogs as he settles in, but this lovely young lad just seems to want to learn and in the right hands could be a super young dog.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
