Feast your eyes on this gorgeous young lad, his name is Marco, he is still very much a baby at around 12/18 months. He is now chipped, fully vaccinated and neutered.

This poor lad bless him was so scared when he first arrived with us he had no idea at all how he should act with people, dogs but over the weeks he has been here he is a totally different dog now and is looking for the right owner to help take him to the next stage in his life.

Once he knows you he is such an affectionate lad but with all new people he can be very barky and unsure but that’s all due to lack of confidence which is growing all the time.

Now walking out quite happily with other dogs at the kennels and really starting to enjoy life.

Could you be the special person to adopt this lad?

Update on Marco from a volunteer who walks him on a regular basis:

When Marco first arrived at the kennels he was a very nervous boy, he was scared of everyone and everything. During the time he has been with us he has now realised that life in general is good and he is now less fearful and showing more confidence day by day.

He’s young, full of energy, loves to play and really loves his walks, he pulls a bit but most do!

He’s met other dogs and could maybe live with confident male or female maybe one a little older than him who can show him the ropes. He’s a no to cats as he has been tested at the kennels.

Marco gets very scared at the vets so he would need to be muzzled when visiting.

This boy has been great with all the volunteers he’s met and loves them all however he gets a little nervy when meeting new people, he basically needs more confidence and needs a home where he would be allowed to slowly adjust to his new surroundings until he felt comfortable and safe. This may take a while so we are looking for someone with the experience, time, knowledge and who understands the fear issues.

This boy loves to play and he has shown no toy aggression but he will jump up to grab the toys, this is what we are working on now and so far so good!

He takes treats very gently and knows all the basic commands.

Marco has a home.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
