Max is available for adoption through GSRE – this is what his current owner says about him.

Max is a 4-year-old, male with short length black hair. He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. It is not known when he was wormed/flea treated. He has no known food allergies and no disclosed medical issues. He currently eats twice daily.

Max is being rehomed through GSRE as his current owners believe that it will be in his best interest as they believe he is showing dominance towards the other dogs he currently lives with.

Max is good with children of all ages. He is not good with cats and has never been near any livestock, so are unable to comment. He is selective with other dogs and is described as sometimes being aggressive towards them. He has never shown aggression to or bitten a person although he may bark when people visit the house, but does not show any aggression.

Max is currently living with three other dogs, 2 GSD’s and 1 spaniel. He can be left alone for up to 6 hours with no destructive behaviours. He travels well in a car and does not bark excessively. He has lived in his current home after his owners rescued him at 18 months old. When rescued he was fearful of men, but no longer is.

Max lives indoors and is housetrained. He will pull on the lead so will need some training in that area. At present he is not walked but spends time in the garden. He has a very good recall and knows sit, lie down, paw, stay, away and no. He is very toy and ball focused. He did not show any signs of possessiveness over food and toys until recently (no info if this is towards people, dogs or both). He is wary during vet’s visits. He is a lovely, friendly dog who obeys basic commands. His skin and coat are in lovely condition.

Why we do what we do

German Shepherd Rescue Elite was not only set up to help as many unwanted, abandoned and neglected German Shepherds as possible, but to also offer education to the general public on the responsibilities / pros / cons of owning a large working breed dog and to be able to offer help and advice so hopefully we can become the prevention for once instead of always being the cure.
