Nancy was originally found in a shed full of faeces with her 7 very young pups. She was removed by the RSPCA and fortunately for her, the owners never came forward.
This lovely girl is now 6 years old and is of course now spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Nancy is a lovely girl but under socialised and nervous. She bonds with people when she knows them but can be nervous and sometimes reactive towards strangers. She is vocal but has never bitten, she is vocal towards other dogs on lead but can play very nicely off the lead.
We think she will need a quite adult only home, but older teenagers may be fine as well. We think she could live with another dog depending on how the introductions go, but will need ongoing socialisation on lead with other dogs and ideally someone who has dealt with a reactive dog before. She will need a rural home rather than an urban home as busy urban life could be too stressful for her.
We think Nancy could live with a dog savvy cat. She was interested when the cat ran off, but when the cat stood her ground she was listening to her. If the cat that has lived with big dogs before and can be introduced through baby gates, we think she would be ok.
Nancy is a very loyal and trusting dog and may need some boundaries once in a home, but she so deserves a life where she can now enjoy just being a dog in an experienced GSD home that can give her the calm and confidence she so needs to thrive.
Nancy was in the care of the RSPCA Millbrook but is now in foster with GSRE where she is very settled so will be staying.
