“I am emailing from East Devon District Council concerning an abandoned dog we have at one of our veterinary practices in our district. She is a 12 month old female Belgium Malinois named Pongo. Unfortunately she has been abandoned and shows signs of aggression towards males where the vets think she has been previously man handled and mis treated. Pongo has become extremely stressed and nervous from being abandoned and being at the vets the past few days which could be the result of her aggression. I am emailing to see if you have someone available to take her and give her the love, attention and training she needs.”
Pongo was taken in by someone who assessed her potentially to be a working dog but unfortunately she was going to need a lot of work. However, no aggression shown towards men since so purely displays of nervous aggression.
Pongo was born January 2025 and is now fully vaccinated. Doubtful if spayed. Typical young lady for her breed with lots of energy and drive and will need a home experienced with breed who can deal with dogs fairly but firmly.
No young children as we know nothing of her history. No major aggression shown towards the other dogs at the kennels but further assessment needed.
Pongo will need an active home with breed experience so she can truly shine.
